Shishir Deshpande, LL.M. '06, to Receive IU Alumni Award

In recognition of his service to the IU Alumni Association, Shishir Deshpande, LL.M. ’06, will receive the IUAA Volunteer Leadership Award. The presentation will take place during the alumni awards banquet June 10 in Bloomington.
Deshpande served as a founder of the Delhi chapter of the Indiana University Alumni Association in 2011 and as the chapter president since 2016. He received an inaugural Service Award from IU McKinney during the festivities commemorating the 15th anniversary of the Master of Laws program in 2017. He became India’s first representative to the IUAA executive council in 2020. In addition, Deshpande serves as chair of IU McKinney’s Dean’s Global Advisory Council.
Deshpande has worked in Mumbai, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, and New Delhi. He has advised and represented clients in a wide variety of civil, commercial and constitutional litigation, as well as arbitration cases arising from banking, technology contracts, real estate, employment, industrial disputes, and environmental protection laws.
