Jeffrey L. Marchal, J.D. ’94, has been appointed to the Marion Superior Court. Marchal, who currently serves the court as a magistrate judge, will succeed Judge Grant W. Hawkins, J.D. ’74, who is retiring September 30, 2022.

Magistrate Judge Marchal previously served as a master commissioner. He has served as a judicial officer in the Marion Superior Courts since 2004. Prior to that he was in private practice. Magistrate Marchal received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois. He will be sworn in as judge on a mutually agreeable date to be determined following the retirement of Judge Hawkins.
