10/07/2022
The Association of Fundraising Professionals - Indiana Chapter will recognize IU McKinney alumnus Steve Tuchman, ’71, and his husband Reed Bobrick with a lifetime achievement award at the Indiana Philanthropy Awards on November 17.
The AFP-IC annually hosts the Indiana Philanthropy Awards to honor and recognize individuals, groups, organizations, and corporations in Indiana who have enhanced philanthropy and the community through their dedicated efforts, time, leadership, passion, and generosity.
These awards are given in recognition to those whose lifetime or long-term achievements have made a significant impact on our state or a local community through one or more charitable organizations.
Tuchman has served on the Robert H. McKinney School of Law Board of Visitors since 2010.Throughout his tenure, he has made philanthropic gifts to the law school and encouraged his colleagues on the law school’s Board of Advisors and other IU McKinney Law alumni to join him in giving and volunteering. He has supported the law school through annual giving and special projects such as an endowed chair and student emergency funds. Tuchman and Bobrick made a substantial gift commitment to the law school in 2013 to create the Tuchman Bobrick Scholarship, focused on self-identified gay male students. Since its inception, eight students have received the scholarship, and they regularly meet with recipients to encourage them and to provide career advice and mentorship.
Tuchman and Bobrick made a pioneering $4 million gift focusing on LGBTQ rights and diversity to the IU McKinney School of Law in September 2020.
