Professor Dutton Presents at OSU Law Symposium on Ukraine War

IU McKinney Professor Yvonne Dutton took part in a symposium at OSU Moritz College of Law, where she spoke about justice and accountability mechanisms for the atrocities being committed in Ukraine. The event, The Ohio State Law Journal’s symposium, “The Ukraine War and Its Legal Ramifications,” took place on February 24, the anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
Professor Dutton spoke on a panel that addressed the topic “Human Security and Justice.” She is a well-known scholar in this area. Her scholarship examines questions about international cooperation and the role and effectiveness of international institutions in deterring and holding accountable those who commit crimes of international concern. In 2022, Professor Dutton was elected vice chair of the American Society of International Law’s Women in International Law Interest Group. She also has served as ASIL’s Midwest vice chair. In May 2013, her book entitled Rules, Politics, and the International Criminal Court: Committing to the Court was published by Routledge.
