IU McKinney Celebrates Annual Student Organization Awards

IU McKinney celebrated the 11th annual Student Organization Awards on April 13. The honorees are as follows:
The Outstanding Student Leader of the Year recipient was Blaize Hiatt. Hiatt is the president of the Phi Delta Phi. This award recognizes Hiatt for her dedicated leadership to enhance the spirit and community of the law school through active engagement in service and programs. Student Organization of the Year went to the First Generation Law Society for “making the most significant impact in the IU McKinney community through service, programs, and activities.” The group collected LSAT prep books and gathered other helpful information to assist undergraduate students thinking about attending law school.
Best Collaboration of the Year went to the Intellectual Property Student Association and the Sports and Entertainment Law Society for their joint networking panel for “making an impact in the IU McKinney community by demonstrating meaningful partnership, teamwork, and synergy.”
Service Project of the Year was presented to Women’s Caucus for the 45th annual auction for “making a significant impact in the IU McKinney community through community service and professional development.” This year’s event raised $15,000 for the Center for Victim and Human Rights.
Best New Student Organization of the Year was presented to the First Generation Law Student Society for “establishing a new mission-focused organization and developing new initiatives for the IU McKinney community and beyond.
Student Organization Advisor of the Year was presented to Professor John Hill for his work with the student group, Law Students for Life.
