Hall Center Recognizes Outstanding Student Kasey Barnes, '23

The Hall Center for Law and Health awarded Kasey Barnes, ’23, the Hall Render Killian Heath & Lyman Outstanding Health Law Student Award.
The award is presented annually in "recognition of the recipient's outstanding contributions to the enhancement of this field."
As a law student at IU McKinney School of Law, Barnes earned a graduate certificate in health law. She also completed health law externships with the Indiana Health Information Exchange and with IU Health Corporate General Counsel. She was an associate editor on the Indiana Health Law Review and her note will be published in Volume XXII. She was also recognized with the Krieg DeVault Excellence in Editing Award.
Barnes has accepted a position beginning in September with the law firm Ice Miller in Indianapolis. Through IU McKinney’s on campus interviewing program and the Hall Center Health Law Society and Hall Center Mentor Board, Barnes met and was mentored by attorneys from Ice Miller. She was a summer associate at the firm in 2022.
