Professor Emmert Retakes the Reins at the European Journal of Law Reform
06/22/2023
IU McKinney Professor Frank Emmert has resumed his place as managing editor of the European Journal of Law Reform (EJLR). Professor Emmert co-founded EJLR in 1998 with colleagues at the University of Basel, and at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies of the University of London. He served as managing editor from 1998 to 2012 and served on the Board of Editors. Over the years, he encouraged many IU McKinney students to submit their work to the double-blind peer review procedure, and more than a dozen articles were accepted for publication. Professor Constantin Stefanou had served as managing editor since 2012 but had to resign to take on responsibilities elsewhere.
Published continuously since 1999, EJLR has established itself as the leading international peer-reviewed journal focused on the theory and practice of law reform around the world. The reference to Europe in the name is to be understood as a reference to European traditions of critical thinking and freedom of academic inquiry rather than a geographic limitation.
