07/21/2023
Doneisha Posey, J.D. ’14 and Maurice Scott, J.D. ’12 have been named Rising Stars by Indiana University’s Neal-Marshall Alumni Club.
Posey is vice president and general counsel at Black Onyx Management, a Black-owned applied research and management consultancy that focuses on leveraging an organization’s mission and goals to ensure equity for all communities, especially for Black and other historically marginalized communities.
Scott founded Scott Legal & Consulting LLC in 2019 with the goal of representing individuals, real estate investors, developers, and corporations in a wide range of areas. Prior to this, he was an assistant corporation counsel for the City of Indianapolis, where he advised and represented multiple government agencies in land use disputes, quiet title actions, and mortgage foreclosures.
Posey and Scott will be feted with the other honorees during the alumni group’s 16th annual Jazz Brunch on Saturday, July 15, 2023. The Neal-Marshall Alumni Club was founded in 1980 to meet the needs of IU African-American alumni and to increase their participation in local and national IU alumni groups. The club is named for the first African-American male and female graduates of Indiana University: Marcellus Neal, BA 1895, and Frances Marshall, BA 1919.
