Eleven IU McKinney Students Attend National Association of Women Judges Annual Meeting

Eleven students from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law took part in the National Association of Women Judges Planting the Seed mentorship program during the group’s annual meeting in Indianapolis in early October.
Student attendees included 1Ls Isabella Hill, Abigail Nebot, Janelle Peters, Meagan Tadevich, and Stacia Tyson; 2Ls Brooklyn Hayes and Isabella Page; and 3Ls Ashley Lowe, Diamond McDonald, Ashley Rosenblatt, and Megan Wellman. Judge Lakshmi Reddy, J.D., ‘97, of Vigo Superior Court, helped coordinate the student’s participation in the program.
Four members of the IU McKinney Law family spoke during the event.
Irene Massimino, LL.M. ‘05 and an S.J.D. candidate at IU McKinney, presented “The Crime of Genocide: Understanding the Legal Concept Through Current Threats.”
Professor Aila Hoss presented “Cultural Considerations in Judging.”
Deborah Daniels, J.D. ‘77, attorney at Krieg DeVault, spoke about “Successful Strategies to Combat Sexual Abuse in College and Professional Athletics.”
Jill Carnell, J.D. ‘05, co-founder and chief contemplative office of Thought Kitchen, spoke about “Well-Being in the Law.”
