Professor Magliocca in Demand for 14th Amendment Expertise

IU McKinney Professor Gerard Magliocca is much in demand for his expertise on the 14th Amendment. In addition to speaking with media members nationwide about how Section 3 of the 14th Amendment applies to people running for public office who have been accused of insurrection, Professor Magliocca has written guest opinion pieces and testified in multiple hearings on these matters across the country.
Professor Magliocca testified in the Colorado case in which that state's supreme court ruled that former President Donald Trump cannot be on the ballot because he engaged in the January 6, 2021, insurrection. Professor Magliocca has shared his expertise about these kinds of decisions and the 14th Amendment overall with multiple media outlets, while other entities refer to his testimony and his scholarship in this area. Professor Magliocca is a Samuel R. Rosen Professor of Law at IU McKinney and a nationally known expert in constitutional law. He is the author of five books, the latest of which, Washington’s Heir: The Life of Bushrod Washington, was published by Oxford University Press in early 2022. He also is the author of over 30 articles on constitutional law and intellectual property.
