Peyton Muffley is a 2L at IU McKinney who’s already got her eye on what she plans to do after completing her legal education.

Where are you from? What year are you in law school?

I am from Indy and the surrounding area. I am a 2L. 

Any lawyers in your family? What made you decide you wanted to go to law school? And what brought you to IU McKinney in particular? What has your experience been like as a student at IU McKinney?

I do not have any lawyers in my family. I decided to come to McKinney because I completed my undergraduate studies on the IU Indianapolis campus and did not know what I wanted to do post-graduation. My dad and I were talking, and I kind of just made the decision to go to law school. My experience has been mostly positive overall. As with everything, there are ups and downs. But I have really enjoyed my classes and professors so far. 

What’s been the biggest adjustment you’ve had to make in your life since you started law school?

The gym has always been my "release valve" but, especially during 1L, it was difficult to stay consistent. So, this year (my second year in law school), I have tried to make the gym a priority. 

What student groups have you been involved in?

 Law Students for Life. 

What externship or clinic courses have you taken part in? Have you worked as a summer associate anywhere?

I have not participated in either externships or clinics. I worked as a summer at Faegre during my 1L summer, and I am going back for my 2L summer as well. 

What are your plans for after law school?

I hope to knock my 2L summer out of the park and get an offer to return to Faegre after I pass the bar.
