IU McKinney Part-time Hybrid J.D. Program Nets High Marks from preLaw
03/18/2024
PreLaw Magazine’s listing of top online J.D. programs nationwide lists IU McKinney’s part-time hybrid J.D. program among its 23 schools rated.
The magazine noted that IU McKinney’s part-time hybrid students attend preselected classes in person two nights per week during their 1L and 2L yeas and have online classwork three to five days per week. In their 3L and 4L years, students select their courses and formats. The program helps online students succeed by providing the Office of Student Affairs and the Office of Academic and Bar Success providing evening hours.
IU McKinney is the first Indiana law school to offer the J.D. degree in a hybrid format, which it began in fall 2023. The law school’s nationally ranked part-time program offers a significant in-person experience that facilitates relationships with peers and faculty with the flexibility of an online component. The part-time program was ranked 23rd by U.S. News and World report in the 2023 rankings.
PreLaw also once again gave IU McKinney high marks in the area of intellectual property law, bestowing upon it an A rating.
