Origins of Freedom Event takes place at IU McKinney
04/03/2024
The Federalist Society student group at IU McKinney collaborated with The Remnant Trust to present the program, “Origins of Freedom,” on March 28 at Inlow Hall.
Professor John Hill; Professor Gerard Magliocca; adjunct professor Hal Johnston, J.D. ’82; retired Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Randall T. Shepard; and retired U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals Judge John Tinder spoke at the event.
The program traces the idea of freedom from the Magna Carta to the present in Indiana’s court system. The Remnant Trust makes original documents like the Federalist Papers, the U.S. Constitution, the Emancipation Proclamation, and the Magna Carta available for attendees to handle in person. In the photo, Professor Lahny Silva is reading a copy of the Magna Carta.
