Five alumni of the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law were selected for the Indianapolis Business Journal’s Forty under 40 class for 2024. They are Lauren Box, J.D. ’15; Chaka Coleman, J.D. ’22; Stephanie Flittner, J.D. ’11; Roya Porter, J.D. ’15; and Brian R. Prince, II, J.D. ’15.
Lauren Box, J.D. ’15, is a partner at Barnes & Thornburg in Indianapolis. Box serves as co-chair of the firm’s hiring committee and oversees the summer associates program. She is a board member for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana, pro bono counsel for the Alzheimer’s Association-Greater Indianapolis Chapter, and a volunteer for the 2024 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials Host Committee.
Chaka Coleman, J.D. ’22, is director of legislative affairs at Paganelli Law Group. Coleman lobbies state and local government officials for clients in the energy, healthcare, alcohol, agriculture, and gambling sectors. She is a mayoral appointee to the Carmel Planning Commission, the board treasurer for the Bishop Joseph D. Farris Community Living Center, and a volunteer with the Hamilton County Leadership Academy.
Stephanie Flittner, J.D. ’11, is assistant general counsel at Shiel Sexton, where she led the company’s response for construction crews who were considered essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Flittner is chair of the Hamilton County Young Republicans, serves on the board of Indiana Wish, is a volunteer for St. Margaret’s Hospital Guild, Cherry Tree Elementary PTO, and is past president of the Junior League of Indianapolis.
Roya Porter, J.D. ’15, is senior corporate counsel at Strada Education Foundation, where she is the primary legal advisor for the foundation’s HBCU initiative, human resources, real estate and insurance. Porter serves as the annual giving chair for Hendricks Regional Health YMCA of Hendricks County, and she has served as treasurer and vice president for the Marion County Bar Association.
Brian R. Prince, II, J.D. ’15, is president and CEO of Prince Property Group. Prince began his career at Flaherty & Collins Properties, where he spearheaded and is an equity owner in nearly $400 million in real estate development projects in Indiana. He left there in early 2024 to form his own real estate development firm. In spite of his career success, Prince says his biggest accomplishment came in 2022 when he created a scholarship at IU McKinney Law to honor his late mother, Murieta S. Covington, J.D. ’04.
