Three members of the faculty at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law have been awarded John S. Grimes Faculty Fellowships. These awards are made in support of and recognition of a faculty member’s excellence as a classroom teacher, recognition of a faculty member’s legal scholarship, or recognition of a faculty member’s high achievement in the legal profession in Indiana. The faculty who received the fellowship are:
- Lea Bishop for her teaching/research project of “Advancing Generative AI Integration in Legal Education (AGILE).” Professor Bishop also received a Grimes Faculty Fellowship in 2023.
- Julie Gilgoff for her teaching/research project of “Classroom support to develop Poverty Law course about the rights of the homeless.”
- Aila Hoss for her teaching/research project of “Epidemiology and the Law: development of a module on epidemiology for law students enrolled in ‘Law and Public Health.’”
Professor John S. Grimes was a member of Indiana University’s faculties, including at the IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where he taught property and trusts and estates. Upon his passing in 1992, funds from Professor Grimes’ estate established The John S. Grimes Memorial Grants and Legal Scholarship Endowment. It is an endowment in the Indiana University Foundation and provides medical grants and faculty fellowships to the IU McKinney School of Law faculty.
