Ten Members of the IU McKinney Family among Diversity in Law Honorees

IU McKinney celebrates the 10 members of the law school family who will be honored at the Indiana Lawyer’s Diversity in Law awards program on October 2. Dean Karen E. Bravo will take part in a panel discussion during the event.
Lacy Johnson, J.D. ’81, a partner at Taft Stettinius & Hollister, was chosen for the Trail Blazer award, which is the highest Diversity in Law honor. It recognizes and attorney who has excelled in their commitment to diversity and who has inspired others to do the same.
Other members of the IU McKinney family who are being recognized for their work in diversity and inclusion are:

- Angela Freeman, J.D. ’12, of Barnes and Thornburg
- The Honorable Ryan Kenneth Gardner, J.D. ’04, of the Marion Superior Court 10
- Burnell Grimes, J.D. ’16, Director, Legal at Carrier Global Corporation
- MacAna Gilkerson, J.D. ’24, who co-founded the Accessibility and Equity Student Union at IU McKinney. The group is now known as the AccessABILITY Student Union.

- LaToya Highsaw, J.D. ’16, of Paganelli Law Group
