09/19/2024
Professor Robert Katz has been appointed to the ABA Task Force to Combat Antisemitism, a body of 12 leaders in the public, private, nonprofit, and academic legal communities across the country, including former presidents of the ABA. Professor Katz, a national leader in the study of antisemitism and the law, was appointed by ABA President William R. Bay and Immediate Past President Mary Smith both of whom created the task force. The task force will implement the ABA House of Delegates resolution that the ABA take a leadership role in opposing antisemitism, including through education designed to give people the knowledge and tools necessary to identify, prevent, respond to, and remedy antisemitism.
Professor Katz serves on the task force’s Working Group for Higher Education, whose top priorities include identifying ways to promote laws students’ understanding of antisemitism and how to counter it through law.
Professor Katz is writing Antisemitism and the Law, the first casebook on the subject, to be published by Carolina Academic Press. He is a Senior Research Fellow for the Anti-Defamation League’s Center for Antisemitism Research and Director of the Center for the Study of Law and Antisemitism, a nonprofit organization he started to promote research and education at the intersection of law and antisemitism.
