Professor Koju Hirose of Aomori Chuo Gakuin University in Japan recently visited IU McKinney School of Law and Professor Jim Nehf.

Professor Hirose presented his paper at the 17th Conference of the International Association of Consumer Law, which took place at IU McKinney in 2019 and was hosted by Professor Nehf. Professor Hirose is studying the Japanese Civil Code and Consumer Law, and said he learned about American consumer law from Professor Nehf during the 2019 conference. He visited IU September 16 through 18, 2024, to study American contract law and consumer law.

“The United States is way ahead of Japan when it comes to contract law and consumer law,” Professor Hirose said.
