Doctor of Juridical Science graduate Omar Alsunaid, ’15, published his dissertation titled Corporate Governance Regulations and Board Independence: Case Studies from the United States and Saudi Arabia. The work was published by Lambert Academic Publishing in March 2016.
In his book, Alsunaid makes a comparative analysis of corporate governance structures in Saudi Arabia and the United States, citing case studies. Published in the United States and Germany, the 340-page book is available on Amazon.
The analytical framework used in the book may be applied to various conditions, Alsunaid said. “Even though the countries’ circumstances are different, all countries’ crises had poor corporate governance structures that eventually led to ineffective economic decision making,” he said.
Alsunaid currently serves as law counsel to Saudi ARAMCO in Saudi Arabia.
