Professor Emmert Joins Chartered Institute of Arbitrators
08/09/2016
Professor Frank Emmert has become a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), specifically the North American Branch.
CIArb is a not-for-profit that works in the public interest through an international network with a global membership of around 12,500 people who have professional training or experience in alternative dispute resolution. The group promotes all forms of private dispute resolution, and provides education and training for arbitrators, mediators, and adjuicators.
“Besides giving me more opportunities to serve as an arbitrator, I will be participating in the professional network discussions and get regular updates about arbitration cases that are otherwise not easily available,” Professor Emmert said of his membership in the organization. “This will be useful for my teaching of International Commercial Arbitration, as well as my research and publishing activity in this field.”
Professor Emmert is the executive director of the Center for International and Comparative Law, and the John S. Grimes Professor of Law at IU McKinney.
