Scholars Visit Indiana State, Federal Courts, Alumni and Friends of IU McKinney

Visiting scholars Sun RuiRui, Hu Tingsong, and Deng Jie were given tours of Indiana courtrooms by Professor Tom Wilson, who oversees visiting scholar opportunities for Chinese law professors at IU McKinney. Sun is Director of Law Major in the Department of Humanities at Nanjing University of Science and Technology Zijin College. Professor Hu is from the College of Law and Political Science at Shanghai Normal University, which is where Professor Deng is from as well.
Sun (at left in the top photo) visited with U.S. District Court Judge William T. Lawrence, ’73 (at right). Judge Lawrence invited Sun to observe a jury trial and during a break gave her a tour of his chambers.
Professor Wilson also took Professor Deng, Professor Hu, and Sun on a visit to the Indiana Supreme Court and the Indiana Court of Appeals. The group chatted in the Indiana Supreme Court Conference Room.
The group also received a tour of the Indiana Court of Appeals Courtroom, led by Judge Edward W. Najam, Jr. In the bottom photo from left are Professor Hu, Professor Deng, Judge Najam, and Sun.
