10/21/2016
Professor Yvonne Dutton talked about the impact of the International Criminal Court during a presentation at the Center for African Studies at Stanford University. She made her presentation on October 19.
Professor Dutton talked about her case study research in Kenya, where she looked for evidence of whether and under what circumstances the International Criminal Court produces a deterrent effect. She also spoke about a draft paper she wrote with Tessa Alleblas from The Hague Institute for Global Justice, which was the subject of a blog they wrote during Summer 2016 for the website Open Democracy.
Professor Dutton’s talk was part of the Center for African Studies’ Fall 2016 Africa Table Lecture Series. In the photo, she is shown presenting the lecture.
Professor Dutton is the author of Rules, Politics, and the International Criminal Court: Committing to the Court, published by Routledge Press in 2013. She is a Dean’s Fellow and a Grimes Fellow who teaches comparative law, international law, international criminal law, evidence, criminal law, and criminal procedure at IU McKinney.
