Swati Pradeep Master of Laws Celebration Remarks

IU McKinney Master of Laws student Swati Pradeep made the following remarks during an end-of-studies celebration at the law school on December 19.
They say one good thing about graduation is that you get to wear a funny hat that makes your brain look larger than it actually is.
Class of 2017,congratulations! We did it. Wow. It has been quite the journey. I remember our first few days here trying to figure out where everything was. Where our classes were. I still haven't figured out where some of them are.
But it has been such a roller coaster of a ride and I have loved every moment of it. And that's what I honestly believe will be what makes us to continue to do what we do. Loving every moment. Granted it hasn't been perfect. There were times I'm sure that many of us wanted to take a break, to stop and just give up but we kept going. As someone once told me, sometimes you do what you have to do to start doing what you want to do. So if you still haven't found that place or that moment where you love it, keep going, keep trying, keep finding and you will get there.
There are so many people throughout all of this whom I cannot begin to thank for being my support and my inspiration. To my family, some of whom who are here and some who aren't. Mom this is me saying hi from halfway across the world. I wouldn't have been here without you. To my fiancé who has honestly been my rock to lean on. To my professors who taught me more than just the law, to the dean's, to Miki and Boyet whom I cannot begin to count the number of times I have had to run to in order to get things sorted out . To all the staff, and the school for having such a great program and giving me the opportunity to learn and grow in this wonderful environment and to all of you who have been not just my classmates but also dear friends whom I will cherish for years and years to come. It has been such a pleasure and honor to have been a part of this law school and to have gotten the opportunity to have been a part of the McKinney family.
Thank you so much once again. I hope to see you all in May and good luck and congratulations to you all!
