Kathleen Grove, J.D. ’77, is one of the authors of the book, Elder Women’s Wisdom: A Reclaimed Paradigm of Leadership, slated to be published by Emerald Publishing Limited on September 10.
The book examines seven leadership ‘signatures’ and weaves an iterative, layered model of women’s ways of wisdom that honors the voices of elders, according to the publisher. The book advances limited feminist research on ageing, reconstructs archetypes, and advocates a pioneering paradigm of sage-ing.
Grove contributed to the book, Women at Indiana University, in 2022. Grove led the IU Indianapolis campus’s Office for Women from 2004 until her retirement in 2025. As the director, she built bridges across campus and collaborates with other units and academic departments to help create an inclusive environment in which both women and men can succeed. In addition, she taught for the Women’s Studies program in the IU School of Liberal Arts, Indianapolis. Courses she has taught include Advancing Women in Leadership, Women and the Law, and Women’s Rights around the World. She received the Outstanding Practice with Local Impact Award for 2021 from the Women and Leadership Member Community of the International Leadership Association.
