Campus Mental Health and Recovery Resources for IU McKinney Students
09/12/2025
With classes back in full swing, it can be easy to lose track of the importance of taking care of your mental health. There are several resources on campus that are available to students at the IU McKinney School of Law.
Law students are encouraged to check out the Wellness Suite at Inlow Hall, located in room 235F. Made possible by a partnership between the law school and the IU School of Social Work, law students may meet with wellness coaches Monday through Thursday. Visit https://mckinneylaw.iu.edu/students/wellness-suite.html to learn more.
Here are a few more options on campus:
Counseling and Psychological Services, or CAPS, located in Lockfield Village on the second floor, provides on-campus mental health services including individual therapy, group counseling, psychiatry, and psychological testing. Click on go.iu.edu/capsindy to learn more.
Health and Wellness Promotion, located in Taylor Hall in room 115, provided nonclinical services like health and wellness coaching, peer education training, recovery support meetings, and interactive events. Visit go.iu.edu/hwpindy to check it out.
Health and Wellness Coaching provides one-on-one life coaching to help students plan and follow through on lifestyle changes in a wide range of areas like stress, relationships, fitness, motivation, and more. See go.iu.edu/coaching to learn more.
TimelyCare offers free online counseling. All IU students get free 24/7 access to virtual mental health care including the TalkNow crisis line and scheduled online appointments. Go to timelycare.com/iu to get started.
Clinical Psychology Mental Health Center provides mental health services to address mild to moderate concerns. Services are provided by psychology doctoral students in training. Learn more at go.iu.edu/mhcenter
Don’t see what you want here? Visit the Student Wellness Directory and MentalHealth.IU for other resources.
The Judges and Lawyers Assistance Program, also known as JLAP, also offers resources to law students. Students may remember seeing Nicole Burts, J.D. ’17, at Inlow Hall doing outreach for the organization. Burts is a clinical case manager for JLAP.
