Professor Orentlicher to Talk about "Two Presidents" Book at Indy Reads Books September 7
08/26/2014
Professor David Orentlicher will talk about his book Two Presidents are Better than One: The Case for a Bipartisan Executive Branch on September 7 at 1 p.m. at Indy Reads Books.
Orentlicher’s latest book, publisher in March 2013 by NYU Press, makes the case that much of the discord in government could be curtailed through a system that required cooperation in a two-person, two-party executive.
Professor Orentlicher was a member of the Indiana House of Representatives from 2002 to 2008. During his time in office, he wrote legislation to make health insurance more affordable, increase the pool of venture capital for new businesses, and ensure the better protection of children from abuse and neglect.
Professor Orentlicher is Samuel R. Rosen Professor at IU McKinney. A scholar of constitutional law, and co-director of the Hall Center for Law and Health, he also has taught at Princeton University and the University of Chicago Law School. He earned degrees in law and medicine at Harvard and specializes as well in health care law and ethics.
