Professor Carlton Waterhouse will present “See No Evil – Hear No Evil: Environmental Justice and Environmental Hegemony” as part of the ClassCrits VII Conference at the University of California Davis School of Law on November 14 and 15.
The event commemorates the 50th anniversary of the enactment of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and then declaration of the “War on Poverty,” among other milestones. The conference will explore the risks, uncertainty, and structural challenges and discuss possibilities for shared goals and new forms of resistance.
Other presentations Professor Waterhouse has made recently include his visit to the University of Houston Law School on October 20, where he delivered a talk titled “No Neutral Ground: The Role of the Court in Maintaining Racial Dominance.”
On October 22, he served as a scholar-in-residence and presented his book project on “Justice for Jim Crow's Children at the Thurgood Marshall School of Law.”
Professor Waterhouse is a Dean's Fellow at IU McKinney, and teaches property, hazardous waste law, environmental law, administrative law, and a seminar in law and justice.
