Professor Orentlicher Named President of the American Society of Law, Medicine & Ethics for 2015

On December 5, Professor David Orentlicher, co-director of the Hall Center for Law and Health at IU McKinney, was elected president of the American Society of Law, Medicine & Ethics (ASLME) for 2015.
The organization dates to 1911, and its mission is to provide high-quality scholarship, debate, and critical thought for professionals at the intersection of law, medicine, and ethics. ASLME publishes two peer-reviewed journals, and sponsors conferences and webinars for its members.
Professor Orentlicher is Samuel R. Rosen Professor at IU McKinney. A scholar of constitutional law, and co-director of the Hall Center for Law and Health, he also has taught at Princeton University and the University of Chicago Law School. He earned degrees in law and medicine at Harvard and specializes as well in health care law and ethics.
