Professor Orentlicher Comments on Issues in Tippecanoe County Election
04/05/2016
Tippecanoe County voters are being asked to consider the surveyor’s office’s use of outside engineers for some work. The incumbent says there’s nothing wrong with the practice, while the challenger is raising conflict of interest allegations.
Professor David Orentlicher acknowledged that the practice in Indiana does raise concerns. He talked with a reporter with the Lafayette Journal & Courier for a news story published April 2.
A former elected official, Professor Orentlicher served in the Indiana House of Representatives from 2002 through 2008. He is the Samuel R. Rosen Professor at IU McKinney and co-director of the Hall Center for Law and Health. He also has taught at Princeton University and the University of Chicago Law School. He earned degrees in law and medicine at Harvard and specializes as well in health care law and ethics.
