04/20/2016
Professor Xuan-Thao Nguyen’s column on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has been published in the April 20 issue of Indiana Lawyer.
Created more than 30 years ago, the court is known for its decisions on patent law, as it is the only appellate-level court with the jurisdiction to hear patent case appeals.
Professor Nguyen, who holds the Gerald L. Bepko Chair in Law, is the director of the IU McKinney Center for Intellectual Property Law and Innovation. She is an internationally recognized legal scholar, known for her expertise in the intersections of intellectual property, secured transactions, bankruptcy, licensing, and taxation. She recently received the Grant Gilmore Award from the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers, an honor bestowed only eight times since its creation in 1992, in recognition of her scholarship.
