Susan deMaine, research and instruction librarian at the Ruth Lilly Law Library at IU McKinney, has been awarded the Emerging Leader Award from the American Association of Law Libraries. The announcement was made April 26.

The award recognizes newer members who have already made significant contributions to the association and/or to the profession, and who have demonstrated the potential for leadership and continuing service.

"Everything Susan touches is made better by her participation," said Miriam Murphy, director of the Ruth Lilly Law Library. "She goes above and beyond on whatever she undertakes"

deMaine joined the library staff in 2011, and teaches the online legal research class, serves as a faculty research liaison, provides references services, and facilitates the law school’s Faculty Writer’s Circle.
