Professor Orentlicher Comments on 22nd Amendment for "U.S. News & World Report" Story
07/13/2016
Professor David Orentlicher talked about the 22nd Amendment for a story posted by U.S. News & World Report on July 8. The article notes President Barack Obama’s high job approval rating and speculates on whether he would be successful in a bid for a third term, if such a thing were possible in the United States.
“The framers worried about – we worry about – a powerful president,” Professor Orentlicher says in the story. “Already, people feel the president has too much power.”
A former elected official, Professor Orentlicher served in the Indiana House of Representatives from 2002 through 2008. He is the Samuel R. Rosen Professor at IU McKinney and co-director of the Hall Center for Law and Health. He also has taught at Princeton University and the University of Chicago Law School. He earned degrees in law and medicine at Harvard and specializes as well in health care law and ethics.
