Professor Nguyen Serves on Council to Vietnam National University

Professor Xuan-Thao Nguyen is a member of the Scientific Council to the University of Economics and Law at Vietnam National University. The council meets twice a year to provide guidance to the university’s president and his team on academic and strategic planning.
“I am one of two foreign professors serving on the council,” Professor Nguyen said. “It is a great honor!” (In the photo, Professor Nguyen is the 10th person from the right.)
Professor Nguyen frequently travels to Vietnam as part of her academic pursuits. She holds the Gerald L. Bepko Chair in Law, and is the director of the IU McKinney Center for Intellectual Property Law and Innovation. She is an internationally recognized legal scholar, known for her expertise at the intersections of intellectual property, secured transactions, bankruptcy, licensing, and taxation. She received the Grant Gilmore Award from the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers, an honor bestowed only eight times since its creation in 1992, in recognition of her scholarship.
