Professor Nehf to Travel to Hong Kong for Conference
12/16/2016
Professor James P. Nehf will speak at a conference in Hong Kong on January 13-14, 2017. The conference, “Consumer Protection in Asia: Past, Present and Future,” will take place in the law school at City University Hong Kong. The objective of the conference is to provide a detailed analysis of the state of consumer protection in Asia. This will be achieved both by national reports and horizontal reports looking at key issues. These laws will be benchmarked against international standards to assess how effective consumer protection is in the region. A crucial part of the study will be to reflect which legal regimes are influencing developments in Asia. Professor Nehf will be joined by consumer law experts from approximately twenty countries in Asia, Europe, and South America.
Professor Nehf is the Cleon H. Foust Fellow and a John S. Grimes Fellow at IU McKinney. He has been teaching contracts, consumer law, and commercial law subjects for more than 20 years, and is an internationally recognized expert in consumer privacy and financial services law. He serves as an executive board member of the International Consumer Law Association, a global society of consumer law scholars and policy makers.
