04/20/2015
Professors Nicolas Terry, Eric Meslin, and Ross Silverman were part of a panel discussion titled “Indiana’s Emergency Response to an Outbreak of HIV: Early Issues and Lessons” held at the IU School of Nursing.
The epidemic is centered in Scott County in Southern Indiana, and is linked to the intravenous use of the painkiller, Opana. A needle exchange program has been temporarily set up there. Testing and treatment for HIV, as well as referrals to substance abuse programs also are being offered.

His research interests lie primarily at the intersection of medicine, law, and information technology. His recent scholarship has dealt with health privacy, social media and health, big data, and health care fragmentation.
Professor Meslin is a professor of bioethics and law, and has a secondary appointment at the law school.
Professor Silverman is a professor of public health and law, and also has a secondary appointment at the law school.
