Professor Terry Comments for NPR on Repeat Health Privacy Law Violators
01/04/2016
Some frequent scofflaws of the nation’s health privacy laws are not punished, according to a study by ProPublica. What typically happens is that the Office for Civil Rights and the Department of Health and Human Services reminds the offenders of the obligations, according to a story published by National Public Radio on December 29.
Professor Nicolas P. Terry comments for the piece, saying “If you see the same offender continuing along the same line of conduct, then at some point, you’ve got to ramp up and say, ‘You are not taking the hint that we are dropping.’”
