Professor Terry Invited by White House to Precision Medicine Initiative Summit
02/12/2016
Professor Nicolas P. Terry has been invited by the White House to attend the Precision Medicine Initiative Summit on February 25 in Washington, D.C.
The event will bring together leaders from the federal government, private sector, academia, research organizations, and patient advocacy groups to discuss next steps in the president’s Precision Medicine Initiative. President Barack Obama announced the launch of the initiative during his State of the Union address in 2015; an effort to revolutionize the way health is improved and disease is treated. Precision medicine is an innovative approach that takes into account individual differences in genetics, environments and lifestyles and gives medical professionals the resources they need to target the specific treatments of the illnesses patients encounter.
