Professor Terry to Speak on Mobile Health during Connected Health Conference

Professor Nicolas Terry will present as part of a panel discussion on the topic, “Mobile Health and Regulation in Canada and the United States: Policy and Legal Landscape.” The event is part of the “Canada-U.S. Connected Health Workshop” being held as part of the Connected Health Conference in Washington, D.C. The portion of the event that includes remarks from Professor Terry will take place on December 14.
The goal of the workshop is to bring together stakeholders from the U.S. and Canada to identify common goals and foster greater regulatory harmonization in mobile health.
Professor Terry is the Hall Render Professor of Law and executive director of the Hall Center for Law and Health. He testified before Congress in July 2016 about the need for privacy protections for mobile health apps. He was invited by the White House to take part in the Precision Medicine Initiative Summit in February 2016. He also is a member of the Health IT Consumer Workgroup. His research interests lie primarily at the intersection of medicine, law, and information technology. His recent scholarship has dealt with health privacy, social media and health, big data, and health care fragmentation. He started the podcast, “The Week in Health Law” with Professor Frank Pasquale of the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.
